Charities supported by the Orange County Lawmen
The Orange County Lawmen are excited to announce the return of the Officer Bob Henry Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to an Orange County high school graduating student-athlete that will be attending college in the fall. The recipient is carefully selected based on character, integrity, discipline, commitment, dedication, hard work and volunteerism, all the traits that were embodied by Officer Henry.
Officer Bob Henry was a Newport Beach Police Officer and a member of the Orange County Stars (renamed Lawmen in 1998). Bob was not the star athlete or best player on the team. But he was the heart of the team. He was the first arrive and last to leave. He gave his all to be the best he could be and would do anything he could to help out his teammates and partners. He worked hard to make his teammates better and always had an upbeat attitude, even in the face of adversity. He was shot in the line of duty on March 12, 1995. He later succumbed to his wounds. He is the only, and hopefully last, Orange County Lawmen organization to pay the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Bob’s work ethic also translated into school. He was not the brightest student, but he was the hardest working student. He was the student that you knew would be successful because he was willing to put the work and effort necessary. He was the kid that was most deserving of a scholarship because he would make great use of it, but because he was not the star athlete or did not have the highest GPA, would be overlooked. The Bob Henry Memorial scholarship will ensure this type of student-athlete will no longer be overlooked.
If you would like to contribute to the Bob Henry Memorial scholarship fund, please contact us under the “contact us” tab. We will ensure the funds you donate go directly towards helping a deserving Orange County high school senior student-athlete as they make the next step into their bright future at the college of their choice.

Over 52 peace officers from 19 different law enforcement agencies have died in the line of duty in Orange County, and each of those officers left behind a family in need. Project 999 was established to help the financially vulnerable family of a fallen officer with unexpected expenses and to make sure they are not left to fend for themselves alone. It does not matter what agency the officer worked for; the fund is available to the family of any peace officer killed or injured in the line of duty in Orange County.
The Orange County Lawmen are proud to dedicate and donate the proceeds of the 37th Annual Cop Bowl to Project 999. Additionally, the Officer Bob Henry Memorial Scholarship recipients will be honored during halftime of the Cop Bowl. Please come out and show your support for the families left behind of fallen heroes. To learn more about Project 999, please visit their website at: www.project999.org
